Puzzle Maker Instructions

To generate a new puzzle, enter your list of names in the box to the left, one name per line.

After entering your names, click Make Puzzle and the system will try to make a puzzle out of the names. If a completely connected puzzle could not be computed, try mixing the names in a different order and click Make Puzzle again.

You may click Make Puzzle as often as you like to try to generate different puzzles.

Click Edit/Create to create the puzzle yourself or edit the currently displayed one.

Special Characters

Special characters are available by using their associated keyboard code. Examine the table below for the list of available characters and the key associated with them:

To include these characters in your puzzle, simply provide keyboard character they are assigned to (ie: "$" would result in a dog paw).

This page is designed to make creating your crossword/scrabble puzzle as easy as possible.

There are two methods for creating your puzzle. Choose the method that best describes your project:

1. Automatically create your puzzle:

Enter the names or words you wish to use in your puzzle in the space to the left. You may select special characters such as paw prints by clicking the icons above. Enter the words on word per line then click the Make Puzzle button to generate your puzzle.

2. Manually create the puzzle:

Click Edit/Create to enter manual mode. This will allow you to layout the letters any way you wish or possibly edit the generated puzzle to more suit your needs. More detailed instructions for manually making your puzzle are available on the puzzle editor page.

Specifying only letters:

You may wish to order specific letters without creating a puzzle. Simply enter the letters in the Letters Needed box below and choose your styles.

Design a beautiful scrabble tile wall art or crossword puzzles with our custom made scrabble tiles generator to show your family names.   Each tile is made of 1/4″ birch or maple wood and you may customize the puzzle with your choice of stain color, letter color, and font.  You can easily to attach the tiles to your walls using double-back tape or any method you choose.

You may elect to remove the scrabble values from your puzzle to make it appear more like a large crossword puzzle for your wall than a scrabble one.

Scrabble tiles are provided individually so you may hang them any way you wish (spaced or un-spaced on your wall).  Please review our Frequently Asked Questions to understand fully how to hang the tiles and how they will appear when they arrive.

You can customize your scrabble tiles by choosing:

  • letter color
  • font

The scrabble tile generator will allow you to add special characters:

  • dog paw

Additional special characters can be created for you as well as special order items such as preferred fonts and colors.  No reasonable expedited requests are denied, just ask.

Since each order is custom made to your specifications, we do not keep any letters in stock.  Each will be made from scratch and delivery  could take up to three weeks.  No reasonable expedited requests are denied, just ask.
